Is V6 box deactivated?

Hi. I have the 500mb old TiVo box. I was sent a V6 box a couple of years ago but never activated/connected it. Can I connect and activate it now or will Virgin have deactivated/deleted it from my account? How can I clarify if so? Thanks

  • Hi, sorry, got through quickly (!) to tech help and serial no. of V6 still on my account system (or she'd have added it) so should be ok. She also reckoned will be years before TiVo systems abandoned n everyone forced onto 360 or stream.

    I'm left wondering why you've stuck with an (antique) TiVo and not used the (vastly improved) V6!!

    Same software, but so much better hardware. More tuners, more apps, quicker operation. Sales pitch done!

      Thirdly if you see any of these replies - 1st tech a few days ago said I could connect to the V6 n only needed SN which is on my account already. 2nd tech today cdnt figure out why not working so sending technician to house tomorrow. Tried on phone one last time n 3rd tech said V6 box will NOT activate as sent some time ago, don't have any more V6's to send out n will have to connect to stream or 360. Didn't accept that. Brand new V6 box sat here waiting to activate. Said know Virgin still replacing faulty tivo's with V6's n if my V6 not working should replace like for like. He then said technician at house MAY (but may not) be able to activate it n if not we'll take it from there ... 😊

      BUT ... nothing lost apart from a day in my action packed life as dusted off me old TiVo (goodness knows how much dust must be IN it), connected it back up n yes my people, we're back in the room! Yay! ☺️

      So, we'll see. But it really does seem to depend who you talk to.

      Done it n been stuck in Download Error CS1020 all day. Can't retrieve my account info, can't download software update. On phone to tech for an hour, tried all the tricks. Sending a technician round tomorrow. Which is good.

      I know I know!! I was afraid. Afraid it wouldn't work or only work on wifi because my mate had problems with hers. I'm a moron. Sometimes. Then this time way worse in case I get upgraded to the dreaded Stream or 360!! I know some people like them. I still haven't done it. I'm about to do it ... 😳😌
