Volume Control of AV Receiver using 360 Box

I have a 360 box and a new Yamaha HTR-2071 AV Receiver.

The 360 remote can turn the receiver on/off but wont control the volume. The virgin box is attached to the receiver and the receiver then outputs to a projector. The remote is paired to my projector but when I try and pair the remote to the amplifier nothing works.

Does anyone know how I can control the volume of the AV Receiver with the Virgin 360 remote? Thanks!

    I don't have a projector so can only say have you tried removing the projector from the loop to see if the 360 will pair to your receiver, if it's correctly paired you will get a. Volume keys control in the Audio / Video settings.

    Everything has to be V2.1 in the HDMI chain.
