Volume controls

Hi all, some strange reason my volume control on my remote has stopped working. This is includes volume up/down and mute functions. I recently changed the batteries re-paired and still doesn’t work. When re-pair method is used via searching model of tv the volume buttons work. Soon as I come out of that page back to settings they do not work again.

I have tried a disconnecting power source from my virgin box and also left the batteries out of the remote & re-paired with the same outcome.

any one had similar problems? I have the long slim remote with account button on the side.

TIA

    Hi TidyB

You've posted in the V6 forum, however I think you have a 360 box. The V6 remote control is peanut shaped.  The TV360 and Stream boxes have a slim, oblong shaped remote. They also have a voice button which  isn't available on the V6 boxes. There isn't an account button - Do you mean the Profile button on the side (looks like a head and shoulders)?  If so you have either a TV360 or Stream box. (See screenshot below)

Please try the following.  Hold  down the 'Live TV' (the one on the right hand side directly below the red power/standby button) and '0' button together for around 10/15 seconds. The Standby button should then start to flash followed by an onscreen message displaying 'Pairing successful - this remote will only work with this Virgin 360 box'.

If that fails you can also try the following:-
Put the box into 'Pairing Mode' by pressing the Standby/On button on the front of the 360 box for 10 seconds.  Then using the remote control, press and hold the 'Live TV' button and the '0' button together for 10/15 seconds. And fingers crossed hopefully a  message should appear on the screen confirming that pairing was successful.

If using the searching for model number it's best to state the actual model of your TV here for help.  For example LG OLED 48B46LA, or Samsung QE43Q7FAAU.  With some models it's usually the first 4 characters after the screen size, so in the above Samsung example I would try Q7FA.  If it were the LG though I would try OLED.

You can also try the key testing method, however don't just accept the first one that seems to work, try a few more for a full match.
