Virgin TV Options to Mirror Sky Q

Hi Everyone,

I'm a long term broadband customer but have not had TV from Virgin for a number of years but I am thinking of switching back from Sky.  I currently have Sky Q with a main box (connected to dish) and a mini box (run via mesh network) in another room and would like to replicate this setup if possible (i.e. no  cables for secondary box other than power / HDMI).

Read multiple threads on this forum and just wanted to clarify the latest position with Virgin as it's not clear from their website.  From the answers on many threads, am I correct in the fact that you can request a TV360 box and a stream box on the same account?  And if this is possible, would the subscriptions packages chosen on the TV360 be mirrored on the stream box?

Many thanks in advance for your help.

Cheers

  • If you are not in a full fibre area (V360 shows as available at your address), you have 2 options:

    1. If you want to record the same as SkyQ, you can opt for V360. The main box has to be hard wired to the coax for live channels. Additional multiroom boxes are now Flex boxes that only require Ethernet or Wi-Fi connections. You can have up to 5 Flex boxes in addition to your main V360 & they receive the same channels.
    2. If you don’t want to record you can just opt for Flex boxes (up to 6), similar to Sky Stream.

  • TV customers cannot get flex or stream boxes.  You would get a mini TV 360 box as a second box which would need a coaxial install.

You can compare the 360 and Flex (formerly Stream) channels.

Option 1 outlined by nodrogd would be the perfect option to replace my Sky Q setup.

Thank you all for the replies.
