Virgin Media 360

Hi there,

I find it impossible to contact virgin media, I’ve called them, the AI that talks doesn’t give me an option for the issue I have so that’s useless, no way of speaking to a real human. I have then tried virgin media’s virtual assistant, it says to contact them on WhatsApp, I’ve asked for help on there but no response. I’m losing faith on getting any answers or support so I’m lead to use this forum so I’m looking for help & advice with my problem with my Virgin media 360 box from others.

first issue is the error message that is CS2000.      Internet connection is fine, the wire are all in properly, I have 2 recording so it’s not a full hard drive. I’ve tried it all, I’m lead to believe I have an actual damaged hard drive and maybe need a new box? Can anyone confirm this?

second issue is that ITVX, BBC IPlayer & channel 4 apps just leave me with a black screen, Amazon and Netflix apps work completely fine. Does this issue contribute to the first issue.

if anyone can help, I’ll appreciate that, thanks.

Error CS2000 can be due to a possible hard drive problem.  What happens if you pause a live TV program for a few minutes and then play it back?

How much free space is showing on your hard drive when going to Recordings > Recorded > View all ?  It will show a percentage in the top left hand corner of this screen.  Even though you say you only have two recordings this figure may be wrong.

One previous poster with the CS2000 issue solved it because, "The white converter lead mush be a bit dodgy. Upon wiggling the cable the 360 box picture broke up. I swapped the lead for a standard f type to standard ariel adapter and that solved that problem. "

Have you tried a factory reset?

To factory reset go to Settings (the cog at the end of the Home menu) > System > Factory Reset. It's actually misnamed and only a partial system reset and not a complete factory reset. You are given 2 options

    Keep Recordings
    Format Disk

Normally I would suggest choosing the Keep Recordings option, which means you won't lose your recordings and any planned recordings or series links you've set up.  However since you only have two recordings and can't watch them you may as well choose the format disk option which will also delete your recordings and series links (if it doesn't work it will mean a replacement box which would result in you losing the said recordings and series links anyway)

You can either call Virgin on 150 from a Virgin or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone to report a fault (option 2) or wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.

  • Thanks for response

I can’t pause, rewind or fast forward at all, it just tells me ‘channel failed’ with the CS2000 error code.

It seems you’re right about the figure, it says storage is full but I have clicked on ‘manage storage’ I clicked on ‘fast clean-up options’ and then clicked on all the options to guarantee no recordings or future recordings is stored but even after all of this, top left still says ‘storage is full’

I have already unplugged all the wire and put them back in, making sure all wires are in correctly

I have also already done a factory reset nothing changed with that either

It seems the issue is the storage is full with no idea how to change that.

When phoning choose the option to report a fault, then ignore all the options offered and you should then be placed into a queue to hopefully speak to someone.

The other option is wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.

        Hello AshAbell92.

Thanks for your first post and welcome to our community.
Sorry to hear you're having an issue with your 360 Box.
I'd like to investigate this for you as the CS2000 error code could also mean the hard drive on the box is faulty and will need an engineer to attend and swap this over.
If you don't mind, I'll need to send you a private message to pass security.
If you can check the envelope at the top right of your screen, that would be great.
