Virgin box upgraded to 360 now freezing!

Evening 

Upgraded box software to 360 a few weeks ago. Seemed to work ok at first but after a week it started freezing. Recordings seemed to not work; streaming wouldn't work so restarted. 

After several restarts it seems worse, if I press home it takes around 4 minutes to load, I cannot do anything until it unfreezes.

If I stream it won't go back to home, it needs another restart.

Any ideas on what I can do please?

  • You said recordings aren't working, can you pause and rewind live TV which simulates a recording, if you can't then it sounds like a faulty box. Is the box connected by ethernet cable or wi-fi.

      They seem intermittent, pause and rewind works but system is jumpy.

      Tried a reset and seems better

        Is the 360 connected by ethernet cable or wi-fi, preferred method is ethernet cable.

        Can you describe what you mean by the system is jumpy the more information you can give will help the forum if you want to wait for one of them to respond which might be 2 to 3 days, the alternative is to call Virgin to report a possible faulty box.

    Hi virgin media

    The replacement box came but I've noticed an issue

    I mainly watch rugby league, ita my reason for the sports package. Most of which are on sky sports plus then the red button.

    I can get sky sports plus on 508 but when I hit the red button it goes to a black screen. 

    I've tried the virgin chat but I spent over an hour and they just told me to go to channel 508 but it's the red button version I need and then the chat went dead.

    I believe I may need a more modern box can anyone confirm?

      Hi DavidPy 

      The Sky Sports red button content is available on all Sky Sports channels except Sky Sports News, Sky Sports Mix, and Sky Sports Racing.

      Have you tried using a different HDMI cable?   Also possibly try a different ethernet port or ethernet cable if you have a wired internet connection.

        I'll try the classic on and off now and take a look but everything else seems fine
