Virgin 360

We have " upgraded" to the 360, upgraded is not the right word for this. This system is awful, it is nowhere near as good as our old system, my wife will not use it at all, it is so complicated to use. We have been customers for many years and can't wait to be able to get out of this contract.

Yes, you are correct. This is a migration to a different TV platform, not an upgrade. You will have to blame VMs new owners, Liberty Global. They are an international cable operator, & Horizon (which drives V360) is their own TV platform.

If you want to go back to similar functionality to TiVO, sadly there is not a lot left around. Sky is moving in a similar direction to VM. The free recording options, Freeview & Freesat, will be around until at least the end of the decade, but online alternatives are already coming on the market.

EE have a TV box that does both recording and streaming. Or if you have a TV aerial there are recording boxes available for off-air channels. We are very pleased with our Manhattan recorder.

I dropped VM TV some time ago, and honestly, I don't miss it one bit.  I have a old Humax Freeview recorder and a streaming box as well.  I can record terrestrial TV as needed, and dip in and out of the multitude of streaming services as I please.
