Virgin 360 box

Like most people these days we watch a lot of TV on apps rather than live.  We can do this on the TV itself but to save keep changing the source we try to do this via the virgin box.

However this is becoming more and more difficult as the virgin box is getting slower and slower at opening the apps and then when open showing the menu options.  Sometimes they freeze altogether.  This gets worse each time we use it.

Any advice gratefully received.

Occasionally recordings are missing as well.

    Hi KarenG61

Do you have any problems with live TV or playing recordings on your 360?

Or is it just the apps and catch up services?

If it's just the apps and catch up services then it could be due to the internet connection on your 360.  Is it connected to your hub by ethernet cable or wifi?

I notice from previous posts of yours that you had internet issues im May and an engineer booked in.  Did this resolve the internet problems? (hopefully your hub was changed and you have new ethernet cables)

The missing recordings may have been accidently deleted, or more than likely a sign of a hard drive problem.  Try pausing a live TV program for a few minutes and then play it back. That's the same as a recording and any issues playing back from a paused program or from recordings would indicate a hard drive issue.

Thanks again for taking the time to reply.

Just apps and catch up that gives us problems. Yes Internet all sorted, upgraded speed and new hub.

Recordings on the whole ok, did disappear the other day but next time I checked they were back so that was just a blip.

      Box is connected by ethernet.
