TV360 and deafness

I find myself with the TV360 box (let's not go there as i tried to hang onto TIVO!

I am struggling with 2 matters. I am deaf, and the connection between TV and hearing aids is very important.

Firstly, There is irregularity about which programmes deliver sound direct to my hearing aids via an optical link into the Phonak TV Connector. Some programmes have it but others do not. Does anyone understand why this connection is not more stable? Are different sound technologies being used? It seems to me that live TV has a better hit rate than recorded programmes. No sound is VERY frustrating!

Secondly, the above problem has led me to use subtitles more. However, subtitle control seems weird, as it comes and goes, and having turned subtitles "off" they continue on the screen. Is there something strange about how to control subtitles with the TV360?!

Any help gratefully appreciated!

  • Hello MBofYork,

Welcome back to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your TV box at the moment combining with your hearing aids. Have you been able to get your issues looked into by any other means since you last posted? If not, are the issues happening on certain channels only or is it all channels that you're experiencing the issues with? The issue may not be something technical it could be that the broadcasters don't provide the same sound for all programmes. I will ask the same with the subtitles, is this on certain channels or do the subtitles remain on all channels?

    Kind Regards,

  • Have you tried the audio settings, the default is to follow content, you could try the pcm settings, press the Home button and then go to Settings, Audio & Video, Audio output and try one of the pcm settings.
