TV box inside a cabinet.....

Hi all,

I want to put my TV box inside a cabinet but imagine the remote won't work I less I leave the cabinet door open.

I remember this issue years ago with Sky and I managed to get a 'magic eye' which enabled me to connect and receiver for the remote.

Do VM do something similar?

Or any other ideas on what I could do?

Thanks 👍

  • The 360 remote uses RF to talk to the 360 box and IR to your TV and soundbar so you shouldn't have a problem with the 360 box. Does your cabinet have solid doors or friendly glass doors which won't block the signal, most glass doors don't block the signal.

Haven't bought it yet, the one I'm looking at has solid doors, was waiting to see options before taking the plunge.

Would it affect the hub do you think?

It may not be the best thing for your Wifi.  It's just an extra layer of "stuff" to penetrate.  Also don't forget about heat, make sure everything has decent air flow.

  • I have been using my 360 box behind a wooden cabinet door positioned behind my TV for a long time without any problems. The remote even works from a distance. I keep the door closed. No extra gizmo needed.
