TV 360 help & settings

I was trying to use the help pages at virginmedia.com/help but could not find the answer or indeed ask a question. i tried to use the web chat but because I dont do whatsapp I was asked to log in while waiting for an agent and once I had signed in I lost the web chat page so that wasnt helpful at all.

I could do with a bit of help with my new 360 tv settings. can I set it to always start on a certain channel? the old system would stay on the last channel watched when you switched it off. now it seems to pick one from your favourites or any random channel. I know that I can press the mike and say last channel but I would prefer it to just stay where i left it!

  • Both my 360 main and mini box start on the last channel being watched when they were switched off.

I don't know if you are using profiles if that makes any difference, you can set the 360 to start up using any profile or the last one being used.

    Hi petersladdie

You can't set the 360 so that it always starts on a certain channel. The 360 uses Profiles instead of favourites.

You can choose the Profile you want the box to open on by going to Settings > Profiles > Default profile on start up.

You can set the Default Profile used when the box starts up to either Shared, Last Used, or 'profile name' where  'profile name' is the title you have given to a profile you've set up.

If you have the profile settings set to "Last Used",   then If you have been a viewing a channel from one of your profiles and you reboot your box , then the box will open the last channel viewed using that profile.

If however you have the profile settings set to "Shared" , then If you have been a viewing a channel from one of your profiles and you reboot your box , then the box will open the last channel viewed using the Shared Profile

The odd time that I reboot my 360 it always starts again on the last channel that I was viewing.  Even when finishing using apps or watching On Demand/Catch Up/Box Sets it goes back to the last channel I was viewing.

It has gone to channel 360 an odd time (not every time) when there has been a 360 box version update.

I have set a profile but it does not start on the last channel viewed even after I have watched recordings or streamed from my watchlist. It insists on starting on TNT sports 2, which is one of my favourites (for the european football) almost as if it is the default channel so recently I have had to endure australian rules football, wrestling and basketball, none of which interest me. I would just like it to open on the last channel viewed like it used to. Last night I typed 101 into the remote and it went to TNT sports 2 instead of BBC1 so I had to use the mike and say BBC1 to get to the right channel. because the olympics had run over I said into the mike last channel to go back to the channel I had been watching but again it went to TNT2. I feel a factory reset coming on as everything else I can try doesnt work and the help pages are not helpful at all as they dont mention 360 even when you search for tv360

NO. I have just replied to him. I think I am going to do a factory reset! It is so flipping annoying. I cant get used to this new format. I dont suppose I can go back to TIVO/V6? It might help if the help pages were updated and a whole set of help was produced for 360 and not just the general tv help that is available now. (for instance there is no help and settings option with 360 but the help pages say go to help and settings for more information). It hardly seems worth all the hassle for Sky Sports +

Hi petersladdie, thank you for your response. We're sorry to hear this.

Has doing a factory reset made any difference at all?

Unfortunately, it's not possible to revert back to the TiVo or V6 service once you've migrated over to TV 360.

We always take on board feedback we receive and will certainly pass along your suggestions to the relevant teams.

        Regards,
        Daniel
