Tivo Vs 360

After receiving many prompts from Virgin that I should upgrade from Tivo to 360, I finally succumbed last week. I brand new box arrived and was installed by engineers last Monday. Well after 5 days the box failed completely, and had to call Virgin out again and installed a new box. Not a good start I thought, lost all the series links I had set up. (The first 360 I had failed to record anything). Now comparing the Tivo to the 360 I would to say in some respects its a step backwards to two counts.

  1. Its difficult to edit the series link.
  2. There is undelete option

I am wondering if two options will ever be incorporated into the 360 anytime soon?

    V360 runs on a TV platform called Horizon. This is a Liberty Global owned system (VMs parent company) that is standardised across all their European operations. In Europe cloud recording is used, something not permitted in the UK or Ireland, hence the hard disk in your box. However, the entire platform remains server based & when recordings are deleted they are gone. Series links are basic & the series has to be showing on a channel to be set up. This all revolves around the TiVO exclusive wishlists function which is patented, so is not available anywhere else.

      So that's progress?

      What I find annoying about the recently installed 360 box is the fast forward bar at the bottom of screen is not transparent, So if I am fast forwarding a sports programme that has the scores at the bottom of the screen, I cant see it. Is there anyway I can get in touch with Horizon to if this can be made a option

        Hi Geoffgil,

        When fast forwarding pressing the Live TV button (the one on the right hand  side of the 360 remote) will switch off the fast forward arrows
