TiVo to 360 with 2nd box
Hi,
I have a slightly confusing upgrade path for 360. Right now, our main box is the legacy wide Samsung TiVo (non-V6), with a V6 box in a bedroom as a secondary.
We've been sent a 360 Mini box and 2 remotes. Is the right thing to do to replace the Samsung TiVo by moving the existing V6 and upgrading it to 360, and put the mini 360 box in the bedroom, or something else? The bedroom TV is *non 4K*, if that makes a difference.
Thanks
Matt
The V6 will get a software upgrade and become your 360 "Master", the mini will replace the old Tivo. Where you put these is up to you. Note the mini has no recording facilities, so will need a good Wifi signal, or better still a cabled connection to the Hub. All recordings are pooled on the 360 master going forward, and are streamed to the mini, hence the need for a good connection.
The other point, and this may not affect you, is the old Tivo had a SCART connector option, and this is no longer available on the 360's.
Oh, and be prepared for a completely different interface, with lots of Tivo features missing. The 360 Horizon software is more streaming centric, whereas the old Tivo software is proprietary and recording centric with features that cannot be replicated on other kit.
