Switch to 360

Hi, just been forced to switch to new 360 box due to failing hard drive on old V6 box. The 360 box is awful is there anyway to switch to an old V6 box. Also I have multi room and I can no longer connect the 2 boxes as other one is V6. Any help welcome

  • If you have a contract with more than one V6 boxes you can't be forced to change to 360, the V6 box should have been changed for a replacement V6.

Who forced you to change to 360.

You can't also have a 360 and V6 on your contract they both have now to be360 because they use different software, the 360 uses Horizon software and the V6 uses TiVo software.

You would need a new remote for your second V6 box and update the software on the box with the app which will either be on the Home page or in Apps and games

If an engineer swapped your box he should have made sure both boxes were running the same software.

Thank you for your reply. I wasn't given an option by the engineer and was not advised about the different operating systems and the fact that I could no longer access recordings from other box. I certainly won't be downgrading my V6 box to 360 software. Firstly because 360 is inferior and I will also lose all my recordings. Going to contact VM to demand a replacement V6 box

Even if you transferred to another V6 box because of the failing Hard Drive  o  your old box, you will still lose your recordings from your old box as they cannot be transferred from one V6 to another V6.

There's more to this. Faulty V6 are replaced with V6, which remain fully supported for fault replacements.
