Series Links

So having eventually after a bit of drama had my box updated to 360, I will probably post something on this and general impressions later however I’m looking at series links and wanting to check some things.

As far as I can see there is no place to view a list of series links.  Replicating some of the ones I had previously stored on V6, some cases there are repeat showings where I’ve changed the requirements to only record new episodes so the box doesn’t schedule any recordings but presumably will in future should new episodes be scheduled.  However going back to my guide I can’t see anything on the programme to suggest there’s a series link set and already I can’t remember which ones I’ve set.  Is there a way of verifying if there is a series link when I’m in the guide?

Related question, previously you could specify a series link against a specific channel or any. How does it work on 360 (that selection field does not exist), if I set to record all is it checking all channels or am I going to have to do it on each channel.

Multi-channel series links are a TiVo-only option at this time, TV360 SL's are channel-specific. You're also correct to state that TV360 doesn't have a series-link manager in the same way that V6 does.

  • Hi Red_Wimp,

There is no series link manager like the V6 box and TiVo software has, the 360 uses Virgins in house Horizon software which doesn't have a lot of the TiVo patented features.

If you set a series link for 'new episodes' then when a new series starts they will record. Unlike the V6 where you could set a series link across channels the 360 are channel specific, so if something gets moved which probably happens more on BBC then you will need to keep a watch on the guide.

If you have a series link set and an episode is due in the next 2 weeks they should show in your planned recordings.
