Recording Options not Available?

Recently transferred over to Virgin 360 and am find some of the options we used to have under the previous version missing.

For instance, I set a series to record but end up with episodes recording more than once. Yesterday found that a program I had set to record was available on both BBC and BBC Scotland soil recorded that episode twice!

With our previous Virgin software there was an option to set up which TV station you wanted to record from so this didn't happen but Virgin 360 (unless I'm going blind or daft or both)  doesn't have this option.... or is that menu buried away somewhere not obvious?

Any advice/ help would be very welcome.

A V6 runs TiVo-firmware and is very recording-centric. A TV360 runs Horizon-software and is very online-centric, the two have many substantial functional differences.

TiVo-firmware offers single-channel or multi-channel series-links, thus has to have the option to select which channel/all channels, HD-yes or HD-don't care, etc. TV360 only supports single-channel series-links, thus the menu option you're looking for doesn't exist.

I use a V6 so can't comment on TV360-specifics, but I would assume that a SL you set in the scenario you describe, would be set on the channel from which you selected it.

  • If you set a series link on the 360 it will only record on that channel unless you also set it to record on another channel, the 360 will give you a warning that you have already set a recording on a different channel.

This can be a problem I think mainly with the BBC who sometimes move a programme from BBC 1 to BBC 2 when some live sporting event might overrun.

"the 360 will give you a warning that you have already set a recording on a different channel"... not on my system?

Going back to your first post didn't know if you had set it to record on both channels, or had recorded both with one setting. Are you also using the new episodes or from this episode onwards options.

Yesterday found that a program I had set to record was available on both BBC and BBC Scotland soil recorded that episode twice!

Hey Richard49, thank you for reaching out and we are sorry to hear about your recording issues,

To confirm has the advice here helped at all or are you still needing some support?

What region is your TV set in, is it Scotland?
