Recent 360 upgrade - slight issue with second box

I have upgraded to 360 with a second box in my kitchen. Since the upgrade I have noted that there is a lag when I switch on the tv with a lag between the audio which starts straight away and the video which takes a little while to show. I had mentioned this online and because I had an engineer appointment for something else they suggested that I mention this with the engineer. He said that it was down to my tv (which is a toshiba model) the same as my main model in the lounge which hasn't got the same issue. Any suggestions as this wasn't evident when I had the Tivo box previously in the kitchen. Thanks in advance

Is the sound coming direct from the TV, or via a speaker/amplifier/ external audio system?

Check the 360 audio options via Settings > Audio & Video.

There is an Audio delay option in that section (should also be one on any external sound equipment that you may have)

You might also need to change the Audio output from within that section. Usually selecting PCMI 5.1 (HDMI only) helps with sound synchronisation, or seelcting PCM2.0,

Is this second box a Stream? If so it receives its live TV by an entirely different way to the 360. The 360 locks onto a cable signal instantly whereas the Stream, being an IP-only box, must establish a broadband connection and initialise its app environment before rendering video.

Thanks for the reply - the second box is a new 360 box but is connected via WiFi - so it is I suppose an IP box so your reply would make sense

  • You need to say which box you now have, if you had an old TiVo box you would have a coax cable connection there. Is the new box connected to the coax cable or just by wi-fi. Picture's below are of a streaming box (top picture), which is a network connection only box and the picture below is a 360 main box and mini box, you should receive either a mini box or streaming box to replace a TiVo box. Is the sound problem only when the box starts up or does the sound stay out of sync.

The box in the lounge is a v6 box - the second box in the kitchen which has replaced the TiVo box is a 360 mini box which is now connected via the WiFi. For further clarification it is the video which lags and not the audio. When I switch on the second box- the audio is on straight away the video then appears after a short while on the tv.
