Problems with the Ethernet cable

Hi, everytime we have put on the tv today it says about a connection problem and to connect an Ethernet cable from the Virgin box to the Hub; the cable is there and has always been there. Also a small red light on front of the box. Have had this quite a bit recently for some reason but not like today. What's the problem?!

Have you not tried another ethernet cable?  That would seem to be the first thing to do.

The small red light is probably to the left of the infinity symbol on the front of the box and will be to inform you of loss of internet connection. (see picture)

Make sure that the ethernet cable is firmly plugged into the hub and the back of the 360 (they can work loose)

Have you tried removing the ethernet cable from the 360 and connecting via wifi instead?

I don't have another Ethernet cable. If I go and buy one tomorrow will that work? We only have one tv in the house so is there no other way of getting the tv working?
