Poor sound quality since software update of 360 box

The sound quality from my tv from programmes watched through virgin box is intermittently quiet and distorted. Have tried everything suggested on virgin media app and have even changed HDMI cable with no solution of problem. This seems to be following a software update. Watching tv through apps on tv does not have same sound distortion. Any suggestions?

  • Hi Willowcat,

Thanks for taking the time to contact us via the Community. It's lovely having you on board with us in the Forums. ⭐

We're sorry to hear there is some sound distortion when viewing TV. To access and adjust sound settings on your Virgin Media 360 box, navigate to Help & Settings > Settings > Audio. From there, you can adjust options like Dolby Digital output, sound effects volume, and potentially pair your remote with an audio system, if you have one.

If you're experiencing sound issues, please ensure your HDMI cable is V2.1 or higher and isn't connected to an HDMI-ARC or HDMI-eARC port on your TV. If you're using a fiber optic cable, set Dolby to "Follow Content".

Keep us posted on how things go.

    Many thanks,

Thanks for the update and sorry to hear the new HDMI cable hasn't resolved the issue. Does this happen on certain channels or content?
