Permanent red light

I’m using a V6 box with 360 software.  I’m just curious to be honest, on one of my boxes the light is permanently red regardless of the state.  I can’t see that I have any issues, everything is working as I expect but wondering why this might be.

  • Hi Red_Wimp,

    Thank you for your post.

To confirm, is the red light for the power on the box or a different light?

Do you have a photo you can provide for this?

It's the power light I think, I have two boxes , on the other this light turns white when coming out of standby. Like I say everything seems to work, just a bit strange.

        Hi Red_Wimp,

Thanks for coming back to us on this one.

When the light remains a solid red, this suggests the box is in stand by mode. It should change to a white light when it's brought out of standby.

As you've mentioned you're not having any issues with the box, it won't be anything to worry about for now. It's likely the light is failing which isn't unusual and won't have any impact on the service itself. If you do start to have any issues with the box, pop back and let us know though so we can help further.

        Many thanks,

"a V6 box with 360 software" doesn't exist. V6 refers to the box running TiVo-software. TV360 refers to the box running Horizon-software, which is fundamentally different.

What you have is a TV360. It may have been a V6 in a past life, but when the hard drive was reformatted to install Horizon-software, it stopped being a V6 and is now a TV360.

An analogy is to describe "an Apple phone running the Android software", assuming such a thing were possible.
