Output - Live TV / HDMI

We have an LG television (LG 32LQ63006LA) in the bedroom and the main Virgin box plugged into the HDMI slot on that TV.  My wife spends a lot of time sat in bed watching that TV.  My wife struggles with technology (TV remotes in particular).  To avoid confusion I have removed the LG remote from the bedroom.  Somehow (stabbing at buttons on the Virgin remote) she manages to change the choice of output to the TV from the HDMI (Virgin) to live TV (the LG TV channels).   How is she doing that on the Virgin remote and how (using the Virgin remote) do I change it back to the HDMI output?  (Note:  I can do that change back using the LG remote but how is she doing it with the Virgin remote)?

    Show her how to use voice control, way better than stabbing at a remote.

    Assuming set up for that TV, the button on the bottom right of the Virgin remote - the box with the arrow into it - changes the TV's input. Press that and then the arrows and select to get to the right HDMI input.

      Thanks - got it and seen it and that must be it - WHY? she stabs at random buttons making random changes that she has no idea what why and when beggars belief but   . . . .

    Online info seems to suggest that TV may have a 'hotel mode' feature. Once activated, 'hotel mode' on a TV allows the user to lock out certain features of the TV to prevent tampering. You may be able to activate 'hotel mode' on the TV and lock the input setting so it is fixed to HDMI input only. (Hotel mode should be used with caution to avoid locking yourself out of key functions of the TV)

    Hmmmm - I don't know, when this has happened I have never tried to use the Virgin remote to turn off the TV because whenever this has happened I have got the LG remote and used that to change the output back to HDMI.  (Clearly when this happens the Virgin remote will not change channels or do anything (although not tried switch off))
