Move a multiroom 360 box

Hello

Not sure if this is the right place to ask this question but will give it a go.

We have a multi-room 360 box in a room we now rarely use, but we now have a TV in the same room as our Hub. We didn't previously have a TV in this room.

Can I move the 360 box from it's current location to the room with the Hub and split the cable going into the Hub so that it also goes to the 360 box. The 360 box would be relocated to approx 5 meters from the Hub, hence s splitter would need a short cable to the Hub and a long cable to the 360 box.

I appreciate I could call out an engineer, but I am quite capable of doing this myself if I have Virgin Media approval and the right parts.

Please could I have some guidance.

Thank You

Keith

I'm sure you're well-intentioned, but DIY amendments to VM's cabling & network can far too easily end badly. This can be either for your own install or that of your neighbours - and can leave you liable for the costs of any investigations should there be service issues.

The non-fault tech charge was reduced from £99 to £25, partly to discourage DIY jobs having undesirable effects on the local network.

  • I would just call Virgin or preferably wait for one of the forum team to get back to you and arrange a non fault call out for £25 and use the correct cable and also check and adjust your signal levels if required. He will also fit terminators to any unused connections.👍
