Modem mode, mesh and TV 360 box

Hi all,

I currently have a Hub 3.0 with a TV 360 box connected via ethernet. We're struggling with WiFi signal and so I've ordered a mesh system (Deco X10). I'll be putting the Hub 3.0 in modem mode when I set up the mesh. My understanding is that in this mode, only one of the ethernet ports on the hub works, which I'll need to use to connect the main mesh node. How can I then keep the TV 360 box connected? I know you can connect over WiFi, but I'm not sure if that has to be the Hub 3.0's WiFi, and I'd rather keep connected via ethernet anyway. The mesh nodes have WiFi ports but I'm unsure if the TV 360 box will still work if it's not connected directly to the hub? Potentially this is a non issue, but when I was on BT previously the TV box had to be wired directly in to the BT hub and not a mesh node.

If anyone's got a similar setup I'd appreciate some advice!

  • You 360 box will need to connect to your Mesh router (Deco X10).

With the Virgin Hub in modem mode, you should not plug anything into it except for your Mesh router.

If you have an ethernet port on your Deco X10 for network access, plug the 360 box into that, if there is no network port then you will need to connect the 360 box to your mesh wifi network wirelessly.

Thanks for clearing this up. When I was on BT you couldn't use the box through a WiFi or ethernet connection to the mesh, it had to be directly through their hub

Really people should get routers first if you need more ports then the mesh has you can add a switch but still you should get a router.
