Lost Sky Sports HD

We're on our second 360 box as the first was faulty (couldn't play back recordings until it finally crashed). On that one we never had sky sports HD channels even though we have a subscription. The new box did have the HD channels until a few days ago but they've all gone back to SD and if I try to go to sky sports HD it goes to the ultra hd channel requiring additional subscription.

I've tried rebooting the box but no change is there anything else I can do?

Thank for reading.

Why do you think you are seeing SD channels, is it because you have SD channel numbers from 511-518?

HD channels may not be missing. 360 boxes have a feature called HD override. This means that if HD channels are included in your TV package, your SD version of the channel will automatically be replaced with the HD channel.

When this was first introduced to the 360 boxes it meant that in some cases the HD channel would appear where you previously may have seen an SD channel, and you wouldn't be able to find the HD channel in its old spot. It isn't missing, it just appears earlier in the list.

Since 2nd October all Sky premium channels now come in HD as standard, boosting the viewing experience for sports and movie fans.  So Sky Sports SD channels have been replaced with Sky Sports HD.

The Sky Sports UHD channels are 532,533, 534 and 535.

I'm pretty sure this only applies for customers re-contracting since the pricing change. If you're still contracted on an "SD" basis or "paying for HD", that will likely continue until you re-contract, at which point HD does become standard.

My V6 still shows the HD & SD channels separately, and my contract still includes the HD supplement.

  • Hi catlady82,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the community.

We're very sorry for any frustration with accessing Sky Sports HD.

To confirm, there is no Sky Sports SD. It is only HD & UHD.

So the SD channel you are accessing would be the HD channel.
