Installation of 360 have caused me not to get onto anything

I installed this dreadful 360 yesterday. It took hours as there was no end of problems from not wanting to update to crashing half. Finally got to watch a programme last night. But today yet again here is issue after issue. I couldn’t get into any app even though signed in so only had access to live tv but it kept freezing. Reset numerous times to no avail so rang Virgin who told me there is and to wait another 48 hours. It is stuck on the welcome message so I don’t even now have access to live tv. This is really appalling considering what I have to pay each month to Virgin. I am in Lincoln so if anyone else my way is having problems then that would be handy to know. Thankyou

    How old are your box/es?
    If they are over 5 years old or heavily used they can fail on migration & need replacing. Another common old box issue is losing recordings on a regular basis.

      My box was fine and is v6 hence why remotes was sent. It eventually worked yesterday but today all frozen

        Check the batteries are okay in your new remote. Mine were dead

      I actually believe it is the box and if I hadn’t had contacted them back I would be sat waiting for another 2 days. But engineer coming Tuesday and he will obviously change the box

      I don’t have a pc nor HDMI cable and watching on my phone is difficult but thanks anyway. Reading all the issues with this 360 I am definitely not alone and it is shocking that Virgin media haven’t bothered to ensure TiVo boxes are healthy enough to sort. This will end up being a new box and then it all starts again. In the last 5 years I have had 2 

  • On the plus side I have now subscribed to Netflix and when my contract is up in Jan I will get rid of the tv and join the masses streaming on a smart tv instead!! They shot themselves in the foot there 😂

      What method(s) have you used to reset the 360 box?  Since you are stuck on the Welcome screen  try turning off the 360 by the switch on the back of the box;  then on the front of the 360 box  hold down both the standby/power button and the - (minus) button at the same time. Then turn on the 360 again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.

      If the standby/power button and the -  button workaround doesn't solve it then try using the standby/power button and the + (plus) button at the same time instead.

        Thanks for your reply but I have done both. So I have shut everything off including wifi, unplugged it, turned off and left for 2 minutes plus, used initially the on/+ plus button and the with the - button after reading that on here. Once it tried to boot but never worked and ended up back at the welcome pa
