Hi when you go for the free 360 upgrade do you lose all your recordings right away or do you have to wait for new remote before they are gone?

You get sent new remote then when you do the software upgrade it wipes the recordings.

Your recordings are lost when your box is reformatted as part of the conversion process.
The remote should arrive a couple of days before the "upgrade now" icon appears in your V6 apps list. You have a short time to instigate the migration yourself, before it's done for you.
It's that migration which wipes the hard drive clean. So make a note of all your series links before then, you will need to recreate all of those. Also be aware that TV360 only allows you to create a series link when there's a episode of that programme scheduled for broadcast in the next fortnight.

Just be aware that although VM call 360 an upgrade to get users off their V6 boxes, it is very different and not everyone has been happy with it. Do check exactly what you will be getting, because you can't go back.
