Do I have to move to Sky Sports+ and TV360?

I am not seeing anything which I want in Sky Sports+ and a lot of things I don't want in Virgin TV 360 so can I just carry on as I am or will be forced to do SS+ and TV360 as some point?

    I think it's inevitable at some point as VM won't want to support two different platforms (and keep paying TiVo for a license), they definitely seem to be ramping up the push to get more people to change so suspect it may not be too much longer. I guess the big holdup may be people on TiVo boxes without a VM internet connection, as both the V6 and 360 need the VM connection, so they either need to change that or lose those customers when they ditch the old TiVo boxes. 

    I left VM earlier this year as didn't want to get stuck in another 18 month contract as I imagine the switch would have occurred before the end but I could be wrong.

    Conversions to TV360 are completely voluntary, and there is no indication of that changing.

    The Sky Sports HD multiscreen is being developed for V6, but there's no timescale for it. You can speculate as to the likelihood of imminent compulsory migrations based on VM's commitment to roll out the app to V6.

    Forget any new services being added to TiVo's, they're being actively swapped out now.

    They'd be on dodgy ground forcing 'upgrades'. Folks would lose their recordings, plus many of the Tivo functions. It could be argued its a break of contract by VM, and you could charge them a cancellation  fee  as they would to you.  😉

      Does that mean Sky are also on dodgy ground as they are forcing upgrades due to the withdrawal of their Sky and Sky+ digiboxes?  Sky say that all remaining Sky channels will close on their SD boxes by 31st August 2024.  Earlier this year they automatically cancelled subscriptions to Sky Cinema or Sky Sports for users of older satellite receivers.

      Sky have advised customers to take action regarding the remaining entertainment channels.  Customers who still have an older subscription and use a non-HD box will have their subscriptions cancelled in October. Affected users should either terminate their existing Sky TV subscription early (without termination charges) or arrange an upgrade to Sky Q or Stream to continue watching all channels.

      Loss of recordings isn't important, not like losing your broadband or phone connection. You won't win an argument with VM on recordings.

        They might be important to the customer,  who can take their business elsewhere.

      I don't think you'll find anywhere in the T&Cs, that specific PVR functions are provided for. Timeshift viewing yes - any recording box would therefore suffice.

    Thanks all. Sorry not to have responded sooner, but I wasn’t getting any notifications of replies, and have been ill. 

    Sounds like it will happen at some point, but the longer that is the more likely problems will have been fixed.
