Complaint about Virgin 360 recordings disappeared

I have had Virgin360 for about two weeks and set up recordings and all was well until tonight when all recordings and planned recordings had disappeared. This is ridiculous and want to know why this had happened, should I expect this to be a regular occurrence and if so this is unacceptable. I was told this was an improvement on my Virgin V6. Well to date this is a massive step backwards.

    Knows their stuff

    Sounds like a faulty box. They work excellently as V6 tivo, but become faulty when 'upgraded' to 360. Its a downgrade for the customer  but an upgrade for VM, as its cheaper software.

  • If the 360 has deleted your recordings and planned recordings it's a sign that the box is faulty, especially if it does it more than once. Some of the older V6 boxes don't like the update to 360. I have had a original 360 box and mini box for over 5 years without a problem.

    You can either call Virgin on 150 from a Virgin phone, mobile or landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone to report a fault, or wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.

    You could also try a factory reset of the 360, and if you haven't got any recordings you might as well go for the format disk option and if or 'when' the box deletes everything again then phone Virgin.

    They might suggest you set the Auto delete option to off, it probably already is and shouldn't affect planned recordings but you can check by doing the following;

    Press Home > Recordings > Recorded > View All > Manage Storage > Enter your pin > Auto delete when space needed > Set to Off.

    You can also do a quick check of the hard drive by pausing and rewinding live TV if that doesn't work then the box definitely needs replacing.

      Thanks

      I checked auto delete, which was set to on. I have now set it to off.

      I also rewound live tv and it played from the new position ok.

      Another thing I noticed today is that I had to re connect youtube and ITVX. It’s as if data associated with the software had been deleted.

      Will just wait and see what happens now.

        If you have to repeatedly sign into apps and not switching the box off at the plug or with the switch on the back of the box then that could be another sign of a box on it's way out.
