Box keeps deleting all recordings

So I’ve had this problem twice now where the box has deleted all my recordings that have been saved and there has been no real reason as to why!

The only time I’ve had this kind of issue is when there has been a power cut, and it has killed the hard drive. I haven’t had any power cuts over the past few weeks so can anyone explain why this is happening?

  • If the 360 has deleted your recordings and planned recordings it's a sign that the box is faulty.

    You can either call Virgin on 150 from a Virgin phone, mobile or landline, or 0345 454 1111 from any other phone to report a fault, or wait here for one of the forum team to pick this up which might be 2 to 3 day's.

    When phoning choose the option to report a fault, then ignore all the options offered and hopefully you should then be placed into a queue to speak to someone.

    You could also try a factory reset of the 360, and if you haven't got any recordings you might as well go for the format disk option and if or 'when' the box deletes everything again then phone Virgin.

    They might suggest you set the Auto delete option to off, it probably already is and shouldn't affect planned recordings but you can check by doing the following;

    Press Home > Recordings > Recorded > View All > Manage Storage > Enter your pin > Auto delete when space needed > Set to Off.

  • Hello R_Workman7,

    Welcome to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your TV box at the moment. Are you still experiencing the issues at the moment and have you tried to report this to the team? We may need to replace your box if you're still experiencing the issues.

    Kind Regards,

  • Right this has happened yet again. Had a great virgin media guy come out and replace all the cables for the internet to run smoother and said it should sort out the box issues. But here I am again having all my recordings deleted for no reason what so ever! Beyond a joke. This 360 box is not fit for purpose. And worryingly it’s the best product on offer. Ha!

    I want a box that works and the service which I am paying for to be working and satisfactory. Which it is not right now and hasn’t been for some time.

    Ask them to 'upgrade' you to a V6/tivo. Its much more stable and a vast improvement :)
