Apple TV app not working

We had 8 days of intermittent broadband & TV360 service recently. That is now allegedly all fixed…but now the Apple TV app will not work….on entering the app the screen goes dark for 15 seconds and then suddenly it starts to pay trailers for Apple shows on a loop.
There’s no way out of this loop, eg to a home or menu page. It just keeps going.
so with all the previous broadband/TV issues, it’s at least 11 days since we have had access to Apple TV on Virgin - works fine in iPad etc.

    We're sorry to hear about the problems you've been having and the issue you now have with the Apple TV app 😔

    Just to confirm, how is the set-top box connected to the Hub? Is it via WiFi or ethernet cable?
