360

Just changed to this.  It's really not user-friendly and I wish I'd never moved: I can no longer record any radio programmes; the text definition is poor - grey on grey - and using the accessibility setting makes it unreadably large; can't use the voice control as radiotherapy treatment makes me lose my voice intermittently.  It's a nightmare and I understand I can't move back.  Is this true?  Any advice please?

TiVo & V6 run TiVo-firmware, TV360 run Horizon-firmware, thus the two are different.

V6 offers radio either via the EPG (thus recordable) or via the Radioline app, TV360 only has the app - this us one of the functional differences for which there is no mitigation.

I use a V6 so am unsure on whether there are any options to change the text colour, although if you've already found the "large" option I suspect that's the answer. TV360 does rely heavily on voice control, that's a design choice by VM.

Conversions from TiVo/V6 > TV360 are voluntary, but are also irreversible. There have been a couple of cases on this forum where users who could demonstrate medical issues and mis-selling by CS, were offered a reversion. My understanding is that the process to revert is quite "heavy duty" and requires a lot of manual work by back-office teams, and thus VM require a pretty good reason to even consider it. A simple case of buyers remorse is highly unlikely to cut it.

I've moved your post from the "chatter & natter" section of the board, which is rarely staff-monitored, to the TV360 section where staff should pickup sometime next week. Wait around and see what they say, but there's no promises.

  • Hi Boo3 thanks for posting although we're sorry to hear of the concerns you've raised.

It can sometimes be a bit of an adjustment to those who are more familiar with the V6/TiVo interface, but it has so many benefits it may just be a case of taking the time to get used to it.

If there's any further help or advice you need then please don't hesitate to let us know.

Can you tell me what the benefits are for someone who lives alone, has 1 mobile and 1 laptop and doesn't watch Netflix or any sport?  I can't see any!   My service has been reduced - can't record radio programmes - and I'm paying the same so, again, what are the benefits please?

        what are the benefits please?

More adverts, less licensing fees for Virgin, there are loads of benefits, just not for the customer!
