360 remote is difficult to use

Is anyone else struggling with these horrid new remotes?

I am a 70 year old pensioner with arthritic hands. I find the remote very difficult to use because:

1. It is so thin and light I keep dropping it, the old remote fit in my hand and had some weight to stabilise it.

2 the buttons are so flat and close together I find it difficult to get the correct one, the old remote had nice raised buttons that were better spaced.

3 why do so many functions need looking for in menus instead of easily accessed from the remote?  Eg, clear, stop, delete.

I imagine the answer, as ever, is cost. These new remotes seem very cheap and cheerful but are not really suited to people like myself, who were probably not considered, only the bottom line.

  • Have you tried the microphone?  Just say recordings or skip four minutes or bbc2

  • You could look at the oneforall remotes the URC7125 and URC1240 seem popular choices but not sure if they have larger buttons.

The URC-6820 does have large buttons and according to a review on Argos  does work with the 360.

These are unfortunately not so much "new remotes" as "different remotes" for a completely different TV software platform. I suspect you had V6 boxes, and have accepted an invitation to migrate to TV360 which runs totally different software.

The newer software is designed a lot more around voice control, and many one-key shortcuts that TiVo-software had, are no more - but have one-touch voice control options instead.
