360 recordings

Just upgraded to 360, how do I prevent recordings from the one box being on the other box? Have tried changing recording settings to the specific box and have tried creating new profiles!

  • The recordings info is shared across both boxes;

    If you go to Recordings > Recorded > See all > and click on the Recorded tab you will see a drop down with the following options:-

    Recorded, Recorded on this Virgin TV box, Planned, and Planned for this Virgin TV box. - highlighting "Recorded on this Virgin TV box" will just show those programs recorded on that box.

    Setting up a profile doesn't help with recordings.

    Also every time you set a recording you will have to specify the location required each time, otherwise recordings will default to the box used for the previous recording. Two box recording is only an interim facility anyway. When one of your boxes fails it will be replaced with a V360 mini box with no hard disk. So you will have only one recording location anyway from that point on.

    To add, TiVo/V6 are designed around multiple boxes - with individual recording capacity - which are linked together. Thus separate recording pools which can all be accessed by each other.

    TV360 is fundamentally designed around one recording pool across all boxes. Across other VM-group companies, remote-recording is used. In the UK, TV360 is installed as one master-box with HDD, and additional slave boxes without HDD. Thus what you describe is TV360 operating as designed.
