360 low bandwidth

I’ve been using 360 software on a previous V6 box for 18 months or so, but just something been happening recently confused me.

I have had a few error messages preventing me playing recordings recently due to low bandwidth.  As the recordings are held on the local drive within my box this has puzzled me.

I’ve done the old restart the hub and box trick and everything works again but as I say was a bit surprised this would have an effect.

  • Are you getting a "low bandwidth" error message or an error code. I haven't seen a "low bandwidth" message being reported before.

The physical recordings are on the 360 box but the data is held on Virgin's servers.

I’m fairly certain wasn’t an error code, something along the lines of low bandwidth is preventing you playing this programme - which was recorded not streaming

Roy has covered the obvious question, so my point is a more general one.

V6 refers to the box running TiVo-software. TV360 refers to the box running Horizon-software.

I just referenced V6 to confirm I had a box with a hard drive, but I get what you mean

More of the 360's functionality relies on the network connection than the V6's, so best to have the box connected to the hub with an Ethernet cable.
