360 box

I have just “upgraded” to the 360 box from V6 and my thoughts are that it’s very much a retrospective step back from the v6. No undelete option the series link options are laughable compared to the flexibility of the V6 series link options and there are no wish list search and record. I am seriously considering cancelling my virgin tv package. I only had to change because my v6 hard drive died. How Virgin can say that the 360 box is an improvement is beyond me!

Allegedly if you have a faulty V6, you get another V6.  The 360 downgrade is voluntary unless thats changed.  Think you have a case to get a V6 back if you’ve been misinformed.

VM CS staff sell it as an upgrade & are incentivised to do so. It is actually a migration to VMs parent companies Horizon TV platform, which they don't have to pay a licence for. The majority of the missing features cannot be duplicated as they are TiVO platform patented.

  • It's a common misconception that VM "pays" for things. VM doesn't pay for anything - were not in a communist society yet. In a capitalist business, the customer pays for anything and everything.

Business Studies 101. There's no business if the business is paying. The whole point of business is to get people to pay more than the value of the goods while pocketing anything extra, referred to as "profit".

In my personal opinion a better description is: some executives can now syphon more out of the business by continuing to charge the same amount they were while not providing as much as they were, because if they weren't this "TIVO license fee" would have been subtracted from everyone's contracts when pressing the button to switch from TiVo to 360.

The V6 is fully supported for fault-replacements, and you should not need to accept a voluntary migration to TV360 (a completely different SW platform) because of a faulty box.

I suspect listening to a recording of your CS call would be interesting
