360 Box not accessible via tablet

Hi  I have asked this question before but never get my problem resolved  Any ideas please?  When my 360 box is in standby mode, i thought I was able to turn it on using my tablet, so that I can watch my recorded programmes in another room.  However regardless of which room I am in, when i use the tvgo app on my tablet and try to turn the box on I just get the message "TV box could not be reached, only possible if your device is connected to the same home network as your VTV box"  It is as I only have one wifi in my home and my tablet only works with wifi? - thanks

  • Is the 360 set to Fast start or Active start.

    On your 360 box go to Settings > System > Standby power consumption. You have 3 choices.
     
    Fast start  - the 360 starts quickly but is less energy efficient
    Active start - more energy efficient than fast start but the box takes a little longer to start up
    Eco start - the most energy efficient it uses minimal power but takes a while to start.
     
    Eco start is a bit switching the box off at the plug.

      Hi sorry for delay. I have been away for a few days. I am on active start but don’t’ understand why this makes a difference. I can start the  box with the supplied remote ok. I just can’t start it via the Tvgo app on my IPad   Is there another setting I should check please

        The 360 box needs to set to either fast start or active start so the app can connect to the box using your virgin hub, the remote doesn't.

        When the box is off and you use the app and press the remote button to connect to the box do you get the connected message and the option to turn the box on.

      Hi. Yep have checked the device support but it not really relevant as once I have turned the box on either manually or with the supplied remote I can use the Tvgo app on my IPad and watch everything. I just can’t get the box out of standby using the Tvgo app

      Does your tablet use any sort of VPN or proxy?  Is your tablet connected to the same Wifi band as the 360,  i.e. the 2.4 or 5Ghz band?

        No VPN. Only have 1 WiFi at home   Tablet doesn’t have a sim so needs WiFi to connect.  Never had this issue with my TiVo box
