360 box failed completely
In desperation I have to turn to the good people in this forum for help. One of our two 360 boxes has failed completely. It has been acting up for the last few days but has now gone off totally. Several reboots and prolonged unplugging have not solved the problem. If I reboot it I get the Welcome in various languages then the Please wait screen then it just dies with the red light showing. The other 360 box is working perfectly and the wifi is also working.
I have just tried my very best to report this fault over the phone but ended up in a loop with Terri Bot that just got ridiculous.
Is the any other way for me to report this fault?
Jim.
Hi Jim,
Try turning off the 360 by the switch on the back of the box; then on the front of the 360 box hold down both the standby/power button and the - (minus) button at the same time. Then turn on the 360 again whilst keeping hold of those buttons for a further 30 seconds.
If the standby/power button and the - button workaround doesn't solve it then try using the standby/power button and the + (plus) button at the same time instead.
You could also try the three fingered salute, which is switch off on the back of the box; then on the front hold down the plus, minus and standby/power buttons at the same time, and switch on again whilst keeping all three buttons pressed down. When it restarts you might see a message it can't acquire the channels. If so press OK and let it restart again.
As to reporting the fault if the above methods don't fix it - select option 2 (faults) by either dialling 150 from a VM landline (it's a free call) or by dialling 0345 454 1111 option 2 from any other phone.
Or wait a few days for a member of the forum team to pick up your post.
