Every Late Night Recording Is Pixelated

My Samsung TiVo works great, unless it is recording during the early hours.

It records Doc, and all the Chicago series around the 2am screenings and nine times out of ten the lower half of the screen is pixelated.  Never an issue when watching live tv as it is broadcast.

I don’t want to upgrade - I actually returned the 360 kit as I wasn’t planning on moving out to make room for it!

Suggestions?

  • Thanks.  Viewing tv seems fine even when paused, although sometimes I lose the sound.

The reason I mentioned the 360 and not wanting to upgrade is because I keep being ‘pushed’ towards it, not because I thought it was connected.

Are other channels also problematic around the same time? There's only 2 reasons for recordings to be pixellated like this.

1: The source broadcast is pixellated. which indicates a signal issue - test using live TV

2: Your V6 has a hard-drive problem which would affect all recorded content. Test by pausing live TV for a short time and resume watching delayed.

If signal is only poor overnight, then it could well be some RF interference or other SNR issue that is only present then - potentially some other household equipment causing it.

Either way, it has nothing to do with whether you want to convert to TV360 or not... this is not a software issue.
