transferring sky landline no to Virgin issue

Hi, I signed up with a friends and family referral for VM 125mbps bb and landline. The registration page asked if i wanted to keep my existing no, so entered my sky no.

A couple days ago i received email from vm saying i have been given a new telephone number on their network.  As i work through the day, i dont have time to call vm to sort this out!!
I dont want to cancel my vm order, the vm modem is due to arrive on 31st July and sky landline and bb to shut down on 1st August.

How do i resolve?

  • Hi orange86 👋

Welcome to our Community Forums and thanks for your post.

I am sorry to hear about the issues with the port.

As long as the number is still active with the previous provided, we can request the transfer.

I'll pop you a PM 📩 now and we can take it from there.

    Speak soon!

      Superfast

Make sure you haven't put a cancellation request to Sky on the phone service, if you have, VM won't be able to port.

Bit concerning that you've stated an end date for Sky of the 1st August. To have an end date indicates you've given notice to Sky?

Yes i cancelled sky package. I assumed Virgin would port the number over as the new customer registration page asked for my landline number if i wanted to keep it.

  • Thanks for your time via PM orange86

I can confirm the number port has been scheduled.

If we can help with anything else, don't hesitate to reach out.
