Transfer BT number to Virginmedia

I wish to transfer my existing BT number to replace my Virginmedia  number and, like many other people, I am stuck in the loop where VM tell me to contact BT as they have to do it and BT tell me to contact VM.

Can anybody tell me who to contact as VM to get this transfer done?
