Remove extra landline 'boxes'

I'm redecorating a room and have found several extra boxes in there.  One is marked NTL, one is marked Cabletel, and there's another one unmarked.  3 of them have nothing in it, but one does, and it's not just a cable, but is to attached to something else (which is plugged into the box).

There are obviously redundancies here, but I don't want to start messing about and breaking things.  How do I go about booking an engineer to do this?  Can it be done online please?

  • Hello PaulKillen

Thanks for posting in regards to removing the wall sockets around your property. As Waterbottle has advised, we are able to arrange an engineer to come and complete this work for you but as it is a non fault call out it would be charged at the standard price of £25.

If this is something you're looking to request, let us know and we can make the necessary arrangements for you via Private Message.

      Thanks Robert.

I know this isn't a fault, but should the boxes not have been removed previously? I'll pay the £25 if I have to, but it seems like this should have been done when the last box was fitted (unless there's something technical I don't know, which is very possible 😀)

Unless specifically requested the boxes would be left as depending on how the landline works, they may still be usable. I will send you a Private Message, please keep an eye out in the top right when signed into the forums for the envelope. This is where you will be able to find my Private Message and be able to respond.
