Port my BT number to my new virgin phone service

I hope someone here can help.
My new service was just installed a few days ago and was supposed to have a switchover of BB and landline from BT to VM - including porting the phone number onto the VM phone service.

But no switch has happened.
As far as BT know, I'm still a customer of theirs.
I phoned VM about it, but after being passed thru 3 dept's, I miraculously got cut off.

Now i'm happy to close the account with BT myself, but not before VM can grab the landline number and port it over.

an someone help with getting this done?

    Sorry to see that your number has not yet been ported. I'll certainly be happy to check this for you. I'd advise keeping the landline open with BT for now as it would need to be active for us to bring your number over.

    In the meantime I'll pop you a PM to confirm your details to check the status of the port.
