New phone adapter - confused

Virgin have sent us an adapter to convert to fibre phone. We told them we didn't need it as we don't have a handset and don't use the landline. I have plugged the adapter into Tel 1. The cable they sent doesn't connect to it. I don't have a phone. We were told our new TV package would update only when we completed this. 

What do I do now?
