Need help to book an engineer

My father is 96 years old and has a virgin media landline.

The landline currently has no dial tone so he cannot make or receive any calls. He relies on the landline for an emergency service if he is in need of assistance.

I have tried Customer Service but can only contact a digital assistant who does not provide the option of speaking to a real person.

Also, my father cannot remember a password to access any further help from virgin media.

I have checked online to see if there is a problem in his area but the response was - no problems.

I need this to be fixed so how to I contact an engineer to come and fix his landline?

Thank you for your help. The engineer came and sorted everything out.

The problem was that VM had switched the landline over to a broadband connection without prior warning or taking into consideration his need for a personal assistance alarm.

This forum was the only way I could communicate with a real person.
