Landline Stopped working two days ago in TW 2

Landline (standard, not VoIP) stopped working two days ago. No Dial tone, no incoming ring tone. When number is dialled  externally it just rings for ever. I cannot find any fault internally, cabling has not changed and my phone line tester affirms a totally dead, powerless line. VM Service Status states no issues, but there is one! Can I please have someone look into this. I have had no digital changeover date issued nor is the Hub telephony part active as of yet.

  • Hello Win7ine,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for taking the time to post here on the forums. I’m sorry to hear of the issues that you’re having with your landline at the moment.

The service status page will only show issues at postcode level, our system isn't showing any problems with your line or in the local area, are you still experiencing the issues?

    Kind Regards,

    Steven_L

So, upon checking my landline again this morning (as I have been testing daily since outage)  it is miraculously working again, my line tester now shows no issue,  so I am going to cancel the engineers appointment for tomorrow but would really like to have an explanation from VM as to what was switched or done within the last few days that lead to the loss of my line and the sudden reappearance today.

Thanks for coming back to us Win7ine. There may have been area fault that was only discovered after your engineer appointment was booked in that has now been resolved. We can try to ask for further information but may we may not be able to. We'll ask the faults team to see if further information can be provided and let you know the outcome.

      Kind Regards,

      Steven_L

Thank you Steven, looking forward to receiving said information and also why I had to find out the phone was working again by myself i.e. no email, no curtesy call nothing and perhaps even receive a booked engineer in a 4 hour time slot tomorrow for no reason anymore.
