I'm sorry to see there' been issues with your landline having no dial tone. Just to confirm, have you been able to check our service page here to see if this is due to any known area issues? You can also sign in via your My VM details to run some tests and book an engineer if needed.
If nothing shows there, we also have a landline help page here for further support.

10 minutes after I posted this problem the phone came alive!!.
Virgin must have fixed something at the exchange
