Landline not working

Landline not working since yesterday.  No fault shown on app.  Rang Customer Service numerous times and they keep saying it’ll be fixed - time passes and no fix!

Tried to book engineer but keep getting passed around and given a new time for fix which never happens!

No dial tone, no incoming or outgoing calls - when will this be fixed?  Had same conversation with several different people but no solution found.

Check with Area faults on 0800 561 0061 If you have a VM landline 150 this goes down to post code level. You could also try the web service status page, but this is not recommended as it only covers issues that affect a very large number of customers

  • I'm the same. My landline isn't working, no dial tone and when you try to ring it says it's not possible to connect the call. Worked fine on Friday, never used it yesterday. Just found out now when my father tried calling. Checked the status on it and nothing is showing, but there's clearly an issue. Will check tomorrow then call them if there is still a problem.

Hi Necronoman thank for posting and welcome back to our community.

Sorry to hear your landline has not been working for you. Can you please advise, if you've tried using an alternative handset? Also, is your phone plugged into your hub, or a traditional phone socket?  As you've already checked for potential faults in your area here and found nothing, I'm going send you a private message, so that I can look your behalf. For future reference, that link would also allow you to login and book a technician if required. Also, if you still have the traditional phone socket, connection you may find here and here, useful. We'd also recommend to never delay reporting a fault. As it could impact you claiming for automatic compensation. However, as i say, I'm going to private message you. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right of your screen.

Hi Lee, I've replied to your message. It's a traditional cabled landline. I've tried calling it again from my mobile and I'm not getting any connection or message to it at all now. Like I said it was working fine on Friday, never used it Saturday as I was out all day, so I don't know if it wasn't working then or not. Hopefully it's just a temporary fault.

  • Hi dd68 thanks for posting and welcome back to our community.

Sorry to hear that you're having loss of landline. And for any inconvenience this may be causing. Regrettably from what you've described, it sounds as though you're having an area issue. This would prevent us from sending out an engineer specifically to your property at this time. I'm also sorry to hear the fix time keeps getting extended. Our fix times on our outage checker are estimations only. This is because some issues are more complex than initially anticipated. However, I'd like to take a look on your behalf. I'm going to send you a private message. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right of your screen.

    Regards
