Landline not working since Friday

Hi there, my landline is not working at the moment - first noticed on Friday. At my end there is just no tone or anything, it is just dead. For someone at the other end calling me they get an engaged tone. No faults in my area. I have tried a different phone and still dead. If a member of the team could help that would be great thanks!
