Landline has never worked

I moved house a year ago into one which did not have Virgin. My landline has never worked, but it's so complicated and time consuming trying to get in contact with someone to get it fixed that I've just never used it (it's part of my package). There's no ringtone at all.

Any suggestions?

    Sorry to hear that your landline has never worked. 

    How do you have your landline set up? Is this connected to the master/extension socket in the home or connected into the TEL 1 port of our router?

    Do you have any other devices connected into the phone line at all such as security devices, fax machines or telehealth alarms?

      It's just the master socket, which is an ancient BT one. There's nothing else attached, but the engineer only fitted the broadband. He didn't mention the phone. I'm not even sure what my phone number is.

      Hi Davyo67,

      As goslow has advised, new installs are set up with the landline connected to the hub. You should have received an adapter to connect this, can you confirm if you have one?

        I don't have an adapter. Where would I get one?
