My landline went down on Sunday. It is back this morning-(Monday). There is crackling on the line which we have never had before. We live in the PE2 postcode. All the rest of our services work (Net and Tv )
Any thoughts? The crackle is a bit of a pain . Our landline phone works ok and indeed i have a brand new landline which i plugged in and get the same crackle.
How do i get rid of the crackle please. Virgin test packages show no system issues

Thanks for posting and welcome to the community. Sorry to hear of the Phone issues but thanks for letting us know what you've already tried as well :). Can I ask, are you plugged into the main master socket or an extension?
Also how many pieces of equipment have you got plugged in (if any) to the Phone? This can be things like other phones, faxes etc. Is it more or less than 3?

Thanks for your response. Answers are as follows:
1/Plugged into main master socket ( i.e the socket where it comes into the home)
2/ Only 1 phone is plugged into the socket. I keep it simple as far as I can
